Drewsey, Harney County, Oregon Land For Sale - 320 Acres

Pine Creek Recreational Property This outstanding hunting and recreational property is located in the Ochoco Mountains approximately 20 miles northeast of Burns, Oregon. Surrounded by U.S. National Forest, this valuable in-holding property offers over a mile of exclusive frontage on Pine Creek, a great year-round fishing stream and wildlife habitat that is tributary to the Malheur River. Pristine and lush meadows with significant willow cover flank the stream throughout the property and forested hills flank the stream and meadow on either side, creating a secluded and beautiful natural setting for private recreational enjoyment as well as a great wildlife habitat for big game and birds. Pine Creek Recreational Property has been part of a single family ownership for over a hundred years and has never before been offered for sale. This property is one of only a very small handful of private in-holdings located within the Malheur National Forest with its abundant wildlife and extensive Ponderosa Pine beauty. The property is fenced and features a small cabin which has been recently expanded, and rustic corrals. Direct access to the property is provided by a network of high quality U.S.F.S. gravel roads which offer quick and easy access to U.S. Highways 20 and 395, which are just minutes from the property. The towns of Burns and Hines (population 5,000) are only half an hour from the property and offer plentiful shopping, restaurants and services. With a total of 320 acres, the property consists of two separate 160 acre parcels, separated by only ¼ mile. Each parcel includes exclusive Pine Creek frontage. In addition, a portion of the property includes a smaller tributary stream, Bonanza Creek. The interplay of stream, meadow, forest and open sagebrush areas offers a tremendous habitat for big game and birds which are numerous in this region. With its abundant stream and meadow, this property is a prime draw for Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer and upland birds. Deeded ownership allows up to two Bull and two Buck Land Owner Preference (L.O.P.) Oregon hunting tags per year, provided the parcel ownerships are divided between husband and wife or similar structure. A timber cruise report done in 2003 shows the property contains 97 acres of primary forest land including almost 6,000 Ponderosa Pine trees of DBH 10 inches or more, the majority of which were 14 inches or greater as of 2003. There are a small number of Douglas Fir on the property as well. The property was harvested in 1959 and so the majority of trees are approximately 45-50 years old, although there are some older trees exceeding 24 inch DBH. As of 2003 the property contained 518,000 board feet (Scribner) of merchantable timber. This property has it all! Among its many fine qualities are: • Deeded land in-holding surrounded by National Forest • Abundant, year-round stream flow • Moderate elevation (approximately 4,900 feet above sea level) allows for a pleasant climate and a longer access season • Variety of habitat – Creek, pine forest, meadow, willows, sagebrush, valley, hillsides, rock bluffs • Fishing, big game and upland birds are abundant o Rocky Mountain Elk o Mule Deer o Upland birds o Trout • Up to two Bull Elk and two Buck Deer tags per year, as Land Owner Preference • Additional tag opportunities through the Controlled hunt draw • Seclusion and privacy • Scenic beauty • Partially fenced. • Cabin and corrals • Quality timber • Direct access from well-maintained gravel road (U.S.F.S.) • Surrounded by U.S. National Forest

Burns, Harney County, Oregon Agricultural/Ranch For Sale - 1344 Acres

Waterfowl Paradise Size: 1,104 acres of prime waterfowl habitat and 240 acres of improved pasture Location: This property is located south and east of Burns, Or. It is about 2 miles from the Malheur Wildlife Refuge to the north.Elevation: 4100’ Water: Water is from the West Fork of the Silvies River. It enters the property and is then distributed throughout the 1100 acres by dams, diversions, ditches, and overflows. It will come in the spring, stay through part of the summer and dissipate into the ground towards fall. This leaves ponds, islands, sloughs, waterways, and the river with water. It also leaves quite a bit of dry ground to set up viewing areas, blinds, or areas in which to hunt pheasants. Also water from this area is funneled into the 240 acres as it is used from the 1100 acres. It floods part of it for bird, deer, and antelope habitat right next to the house. This ranch is in the transition stage from ranch to wetland. It is in conjunction with the Federal Fish and Wildlife and Ducks Unlimited. They have put about a million dollars worth of work into this to enhance the wetland habitat. As such they have a permanent easement to continue to en- hance this project and keep it as a wetland forever. This does not keep the owner from hunting, selling or doing whatever is needed on the property as long as it embraces the spirit of the easement. Anything done on the property like cattle grazing, planting grains for birds, or working with the land is a joint effort and as such is done by working with the agencies involved. Different crops can be seeded on the wetland grounds as long as they are shown to help the waterfowl. On the 240 acre site you can do anything you want as to vegetation or crops. It is in crested wheat now and it is used by bird big game alike. Rye, barley, or even corn could be put in this area to bring in more pheasants, antelope, and deer. Also, geese and ducks would be using it. The Refuge is just two miles away and this land gets some huge bucks . Even if you put in some dryland alfalfa it would pull in a large amount and variety of birds and animals.Wildlife: Of course when you get this type of habitat you get an amazing amount and variety of both upland and migratory birds. Different types of ducks, geese, and any type of water birds will be there at one time or another. It is a secluded place with easy access through a county maintained road. There are both dark and light geese so limits are pretty plentiful for geese. You can go just about anytime to it and see an unbelievable amount of birds, deer and antelope. There are also predators that can be controlled and just plain beauty in the landscape. The grass is extremely abundant and was a great place for all of the cattle that used to graze here. That makes super cover for nesting , breeding, and hiding. Thisranch is exciting for the person who loves birds, water, seclusion, big game animals, and panoramic views. Taxes: $1217<br/><br/><br/>There is a double wide manufactured home on the 240 acres that is not part of the wetland project. This is a great place to come and stay while you hunt or just view the birds. It has a house well and stock well on the property. This property is adjacent and is available for purchase for $350,000
