The Central Coast region of California is full of rugged landscapes, coastal roads and amazing ocean views. One famous scenic road passing along the coastline is the 17-Mile Drive. You will drive past beautiful beaches and very unique sites including mansions and the famous Lone Cypress. If you are a golf enthusiast, Monterey County offers some of the best golf courses including Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and The Links at Spanish Bay. Other points of interest include Stearns Wharf that offers shopping, port cruises, and a unique water taxi system to Santa Barbara Harbor. You will also want to take a trip to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden to take the famed garden walk through over 78 acres of native California plants. If you enjoy wine tasting, Santa Barbara's wine country offers a diverse and delectable selection of wines.

The Central Coast region of California also contains hiking trails around volcanic areas. Bishop Peak is in the Santa Lucia Range and Pinnacles National Park also has a volcanic field with caves and unique rock formations. However, some people just enjoy the beach and this region also offers plenty if you head to Ventura County. Emma Wood State Beach, San Buenaventura State Beach, and McGrath State Beach are all located here and all offer fantastic surfing, swimming, fishing, and bird watching.
