Olympic Peninsula Region, WA
The Olympic Peninsula region borders the Pacific Ocean to the west, Hood Canal to the east and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north. The peninsula features the Olympic Mountains at its center, giving the area diverse terrain and weather in a small geographic area. There are lakes, waterfalls, rivers, mountains, beaches and rain forest. The area contains many state and national parks, with Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest being some of the highlights.

Clallam County's largest city is Port Angeles, which is also the county seat. It is located south from the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which borders Canada. Vancouver Island is across the strait. Cape Alva is located in the county, and is the westernmost point in Washington and the continental U.S. Ozette is the westernmost town in the continental United States. The county contains Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge, Flattery Rocks National Wildlife Refuge, and part of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail, Olympic National Park and Forest and Quillayute Needles National Wildlife Refuge. The county also features several rivers, lakes, hot springs and islands.
