Recreation
Located in GMU 301, Golden Hills Ranch borders state land that grants no public access while the remaining perimeter of the ranch is otherwise encompassed by additional private land owners. With limited public pressure near the ranch, deer and antelope can frequently be seen on the ranch as they reside in the area year-round. During the later seasons, the ranch has potential to have migratory herds of elk passing through as they move down from the higher elevations of the nearby mountains. Over-the-counter elk tags are available for private land only for 2nd and 3rd season. Speaking of mountains, there are multiple access points to hundreds of thousands of acres of National Forest located under 1 hour away where one will find endless trails to explore, many alpine lakes and streams with quality fishing, and additional opportunities for hunting! Elkhead Reservoir is also just a short drive away from the property.
Location
Located just a short drive away, Craig is under 15 minutes south of the ranch and has many gas stations, grocery stores, hardware stores, restaurants, a hospital, and downtown businesses available. To the north of the property, the small town of Baggs, WY is approximately 45 minutes. The nearest airport known as Yampa Valley Regional Airport is located in Hayden which is roughly 30 minutes to the southeast of the ranch, and if one continues past Hayden an additional 30 minutes, they will arrive in Steamboat Springs which has a variety of popular attractions and amenities.
