Want to own a real "gem" of a property? How about 40 acres with the Slate River running through it, and it has parts of two named waterfall systems on it? This Arvon Township 40 has the Quartzite Falls on it, and the lower half of the Black Slate Falls on it as well. The Slate River is a remote wild river, which like many rivers in this part of the U.P., has numerous drops as it makes it way to Lake Superior. Quartzite Falls is a 6-8 foot drop waterfall with a sharp, uniform drop shaped like a bowed-in circle. The calm, deep pool at the end of the Fall's chute looks like a great place to catch trout in a spring run. Black Slate Falls is a nice little falls a few hundred feet up river dropping about 4 feet over a 20 foot wide rock formation. There are a series of smaller drops with the same system of falls. Snowmobile trail 14 crosses the property from east to west. There is a rather substantial road bridge built across the Slate River on the parcel with concrete bridge heads and a heavy timber crib deck. The balance of the 40 acres is cutover timber that should regenerate with aspen, cedar, maple, and other conifers. Electric is available on Arvon Road. This is a very rare, very special 40 acre parcel that will not soon be duplicated in the market.
