Axes Canyon

Axes Canyon is composed of 3,440 deeded acres, along with 600 acres of leased State of Montana land. The ranchs short grass and developed pasture land on the west rise 800 feet to the timbered ridges on the east. Big games traverse the ranch moving from the neighboring feeding grounds to the south and west to the bedding grounds in the timbered ridges of the east. The small stream that starts in springs in the higher ground creates areas for elk wallows during the fall elk rut. The ranch hosts excellent populations of elk throughout the year with archery and rifle seasons providing great possibilities to stalk trophy elk and white-tailed deer. Hungarian partridge, Sharp Tail, and Blue Grouse are found throughout the ranch. The property is a short 9 miles deer to Dillon, fun and vibrant ranch and recreational community, and home of Montana Western University.
