DESCRIPTION: The 161± acre Digger Creek timber tract is located 2± miles north of Highway 34 and 6 miles west of Alsea, in the Oregon Coastal Range. This irregular-shaped tract is crossed by Digger Creek, with 72.3± acres of well-stocked 23-year-old Douglas fir and 77.5± acres of well-stocked 38-year-old Douglas fir. There is an estimated 2,507 MBF of primarily Douglas fir with 1,858± MBF in the 38± year old age class ready for harvest (see Supplemental Information Package for detail summary). The bulk of the tract has a Douglas fir site index from 133 to 135, or site class II+ to I-, providing highly-productive growth from the well-stocked stands. It is projected that the 38 year old stand will contain an estimated 3,200 MBF, or a 40% increase in merchantable volume, within 12 years.
There is physical access from Highway 34 by way of Digger Road to the south and Winney Road to the east and southeast. There is physical access to the northwest corner with an easement from Weyerhaeuser.
