This historic site was the location where General Nathan Bedford Forrest captured Colonel Abel Streight on May 3, 1863. In the story of this surrender the canons and men were hid behind natural berms and knolls in the topography of the land, which are located on this unique property. The timber consists of huge white oaks located in a little valley and a beautiful wetland that runs into the west side of the property. It holds wood ducks and provides habitat for many types of wildlife. There was an old homeplace on the site and the perennial flowers and vines are still thriving from being cultivated from decades ago. A natural spring feeds into the wetland providing consistent water year round. Area attractions include Weiss Lake and Little River Canyon. Approximately 400’ of road frontage on Hwy 9 just east of Cedar Bluff and is near the Hwy 35 /Hwy 9 intersection.
