The Coastal Mountain Sport Haus is listed as one of Columbia County's top 10 properties of historical significance! Originally a 500 acre homestead of the Petersen family, it served for the Petersens' extensive fruit orchards. After harvest, they'd transport their produce by wagon to market in Washington County. As a relic of its bygone era, some of the Petersens' original pear and apple trees still grace the sprawling farm. The gorgeous acreage was later purchased by Willie Wolff, a German immigrant, in 1938 who primarily used the rich soil and level acreage for a dairy farm. Selling milk to Mayflower Farms in Portland, which later became Standard Dairy, Wolff originally used draft horses to farm the land and only later gave way to more modern farming methods utilizing machinery. Beyond the bedrooms with private half-baths, there are two spa-like shower rooms boasting two shower stalls each with sunflower showerheads and breathtaking Italian tile. Custom black walnut vanities with designer sinks and hardware round out the spa experience.

The upper level offers guests a place to relax or enjoy a family game or movie night with an oversized media room with a 63 1/2 screen TV with HD satellite service and Bose surround sound. Opening from French doors to a covered deck, creating a perfect setting for stargazing, wildlife viewing, or simply enjoying a good book and melting into the serenity. A patient observer may even spot Roosevelt elk, black tail deer, coyotes, bobcats, black bear and the occasional cougar!

Beyond the main inn, a carriage house offers additional housing for guests, inn managers and office space. Overlooking sweeping views of the Nehalem River and surrounding meadows, the main suite boats built-in alder cabinets, French door entry to deck, built-in closet, granite desk top, and internet satellite connection. A bunk room in the carriage house also contains eight bunk beds and five skylights which add to the natural light infuses the room. A full bath with a custom soaking tub, sunflower showerhead, marble vanity top, low flow toilets and a two person sauna complete the spa setting. From the solid wood doors and window framing, the first floor of the carriage house offers a single car garage, 2500 gallon water storage tank and treatment, a cellar and laundry with utility sink to freshen up from farm and gardening labors.

The sprawling acreage with Nehalem River frontage also features a luxurious outdoor soaking spa. With convenient seating and warm, crystal clear water, it is a perfect, secluded spot for reconnecting with nature and letting worries slip away. Featuring a Hayward Propane Pool heater and Hayward Maxiflow pump, the custom equipment building for the spa is built with cedar and recycled tin. The easy to roll insulated cover maintains the heat and keeps the wildlife from venturing a dip.

Beyond the custom built features in the inn and carriage house, the turn-of-the-century barn was constructed with hand-hewn timbers and old growth cedar boards. This picturesque barn, perfect for destination weddings or events, currently provides for livestock, hay storage and holds an enclosed garden/greenhouse. Heritage pear trees, apple trees, cherry trees, black walnut trees, blueberry bushes, raspberry bushes and tayberry bushes offer endless opportunities for developing a green thumb, home canning and a self-sufficient lifestyle.

Of the 103.62 acres of lush farm and forest land, the property boasts 20 acres of pasture land, over 71 acres of marketable, 13-16 year old reproduction timber, mile of Nehalem River frontage, pastures and corrals for livestock.
