BIRCH SPRINGS RANCH
The Birch Springs Ranch is located on Utah Highway 43 about 2 miles west of the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and the town of Manila. The 781 deeded acres of Birch Springs Ranch has been compiled and improved over the past seventeen years. Perhaps the most significant improvement was converting all of the flood irrigation to more efficient gravity-pressurized wheel-line sprinklers. Generally, the Ranchs crop-land soils are made up of Poposhia Loam, Poposhia Clay Loam and McFadden Fine Sandy Loam. With proper erosion control, consistent fertilization and good water management, these soils are well suited for hay production and irrigated pasture.
