According to a local wildlife biologist, the whitetail in the area are a combination of typical Hill Country genetics combined with those of south Texas deer. Field dressed carcass weights of 150 pounds plus are not uncommon. Exotic species include axis, sika and fallow deer, aoudad sheep, and the occasional blackbuck antelope and elk. A hunt-able, but not overwhelming, population of feral hogs is present on the ranch for additional year-round hunting.
