Lighthouse Marina & Grill is a full service marina located on the Bureau of Reclamation Red Willow Reservoir, Hugh Butler Lake in South West Nebraska which is 11 miles north of McCook, NE on Highway 83. Hugh Butler Lake is a 1600 acre lake built in the 1960's that is recognized for its excellent fishing & recreational use. Abundant turkey, pheasant & mule deer live in the rolling hills & canyons that surround the lake. Hugh Butler Lake is an outdoorsman dream vacation spot drawing sportsmen from all over the United States. An outdoor archery range built by the Game & Parks is heavily used by the local archery clubs. Located at the end of Red Willow Dam Road, Lighthouse Marina & Grill sits conveniently next to the double boat ramps & swim beach area of Hugh Butler Lake. The marina consists of an original block building that houses an office, tackle center, small dining room & computer area plus two restrooms. The addition has a licensed commercial kitchen, a new dining room that is licensed to seat 200 & features a hot & cold buffet, a new bar with triple door cold storage & 2 handicap accessible restrooms. A separate display area hold up to 30 different liquor bottles & double portable Keg-a-lators store under the bar counter to supply double tap beer. The outer deck is divided into 3 sections: a covered deck with another bar, a covered band shell & dance floor & an open deck. New double sand volley ball court equipment, horseshoes, and children's sand box area are in a completely fenced outdoor area. There is a 3 bedroom Modular, a permitted lot area with 74 permitted lots, most of which have mobile homes placed on them, 9 RV lots & one bedroom rental cabins. All of the improvement (marina, water lines, electrical, modular & mobile homes/RVs) sit on lease land. The Bureau of Reclamation leases to the NE Game & Parks Commission which in turns leases the rights for the marina operation. The lease is normally a 25 year lease, reviewed & renewed every 5 years.
