History

Liberty, NE was established in 1855 and is one of the oldest settlements in Gage County. It developed as an agricultural community and was officially incorporated in 1884. The town grew around the arrival of the railroad, which boosted commerce and accessibility. Location

From Beatrice, NE, head south on U.S. Highway 77 for approximately 14 miles. Then, turn east onto Nebraska Highway 8 and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the 34A spur, where you will head north for approximately 2.6 miles. The total distance is roughly 30 miles, and the drive typically takes around 30 to 35 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.
