Located East of Torrington on the Wyoming side of the state line with Henry, Nebraska is a unique business known as the State Line Oasis Bar. Situated on a 0.64 acre tract of land along the side of U.S. Highway 26, the primary route from Torrington, Wyoming and Scottsbluff / Gering, Nebraska, this thriving tavern has been operating for many years. Built around 1932, this 2,880 square foot single story building sets on a full basement, has been remodeled and upgraded over the years, but could have some more upgrading or even be enlarged with all of the land east of it. Also, a new Wyoming Men’s Correctional Facility is being built in Goshen County just northeast of Torrington, which is just 5 to 6 miles away. Scottsbluff is only 25 miles or so to the southeast, with several smaller communities in between, so there is plenty of population and drive-by traffic to draw from. The Burlington Northern Railroad Co. also has tracks nearby with maintenance crews stationed and working from Torrington to the Scottsbluff / Gering areas.
The Oasis Bar / Tavern itself has a drive-up window for package liquor, a big horseshoe bar inside, a couple of pool tables, a back room seating and dance floor area, and of course restrooms. There is a walk-in cooler behind the bar, a dressing room for dancers, and a small area for taped music. The basement provides room for the natural gas forced air heating system, a private well with pressure tank set-up, access to the plumbing leading out to a private septic system north of the building, and lots of storage. The Goshen County Assessor rates the 48 ft. wide by 60 ft. deep wood frame building as in fair condition, with it presently meeting all state permit requirements, including for a food service grill behind the bar. The liquor license is regulated by the county, so any new buyer / owner would have to re-apply thru the Goshen County Commissioners and the 2007 taxes were only $804.00
Note: Owner financing may be available to a qualified buyer, terms to be negotiated.
