Skull Creek Butte, 520 acres located approximately 18 miles off of Highway 395 from the Ritter Junction. This is surrounded by private land. Timber and open land are interspersed with pockets of timber that will hold and hide wildlife. A very good spring and other wet areas are on the property. The cabin is approximately 20' x 40' with a living area on one half and a storage/shop on the other half. There is no running water to the cabin although a good spring lies close by. Evidence of both elk and deer can be seen on the property by the amount of "rubs" and trails throughout the ranch. There are several "wildlife corridors" with thick fir and pine that they bed in. This property is located between the Middle Fork of the John Day river and the North Fork of the John Day river which both supply Trout, Bass and Dolly Varden fishing through the year. This area is remote and you will be unlikely to see another fisherman on the river. The Steelhead run is all wild fish and can be caught from January to mid April. Rafting the North Fork is an extremely fun thing to do because the river is easy to navigate with very little "White Water".
The seclusion of this property is probably its strongest attribute making it a great retreat to get away from it all.
