One of my favorite types of habitat is old grown up fields and this farm has plenty of those. Originally this farm had approximately 35 acres of crop ground and with the exception of about 17 acres of hay ground, the balance of these fields are grown up in young oaks and cedar trees which is excellent habitat. Two smaller fields on the east side are now cedar thickets and the deer trails leading into them are worn out. A smaller two-acre field located on the north central part of the farm would make for an excellent secluded food plot that is surrounded by bedding area. If the area that is being mowed for hay were row cropped to provide an ample food source, you would have an action packed hunt night after night. Bear Creek runs through the western third of the property and also creates some killer pinch points. The creek bottom is littered with deer trails running up and down the creek ...
