REAL ESTATE HISTORY: This property is believed to be part of the original 4000-acre land purchase by Peter Rothrock. Peter Rothrock (born 1755) served as a private in Captain Christophers Sixth Company-Second Battalion-Bucks County Militia during the American Revolution, then in 1819 came to Harrison county and purchased the land, timbered it, and built a series of Mills along Blue River. This family continued ownership of the property, built homes, and founded the town of White Cloud. Up until the late 1970s there was a dam and a bridge located on this site. This property was not only known for the site of one of the Rothrock Mills but also has one of the most popular swimming holes in Southern Indiana. It was not uncommon for large crowds of people to visit the swimming hole from all of the surrounding counties.
