Waurika is located north of the intersection of Highway 81 & 70 in southern Oklahoma about 50 miles west of Interstate 35. The headquarters for this high volume beef production outfit is about 6 miles southeast of Waurika. This farm is comprised of a total of 7,000 acres all contiguous (including 1,000 acres of leased land that is mostly native grass), with 3,500 acres being prime cropland that is used to grow winter wheat. The balance of the deeded land, about 2,500 acres, is grass land of mostly Bermuda and native species. Typically the owner uses the pasture areas as holding pens until the wheat is able to be grazed on usually starting around mid-November and extending all the way to the first of June, or even a little later.
