Water: The San Carlos is very well watered. with four water wells scattered across the property, one can be sure that wildlife does not have to go far for water. Well depths are in the 300 ft range and provide good household water. Two of the wells utilize windmills for pumping water, on one well the water is drawn by a submersible pump, and the fourth well is located approximately 100 ft from electricity.
Wildlife: Outstanding Bobwhite Quail country. Out of the 1100 acres, 75% is native grass country, open enough for turning out bird dogs but tight enough to keep from covering too much country in a hunt. The other 25% is a scattered mix of tight brush thickets that provide a diversified mixture of woody like species, interceded with a mix of native grasses and Buffel grass. These areas create excellent cover and vegetation for all wildlife. The deer hunting on the San Carlos is as outstanding as
the quail hunting.
Habitat: This ranch is dominated by native grasses. The greatest portion of the ranch sits on a soil bank known as the Delmita Association. This is a top soil for raising natural forages. It is resilient to drought and responds quickly to moisture. All areas are accessible and can be reached without four wheel drive. Recently there have been several new senderos cut, which have really helped hunting and maneuverability around the ranch.
Minerals: Some minerals are negotiable.
