This country property has 40 acres that are surrounded on 4 sides by more open farm land. The house is surrounded by white fence & sits back several yards off the only road that runs to the acreage. On the property there is a lake that is a Blackwater watershed lake built for flood control. Since it is a flood control lake the dam is maintained by Blackwater. They check it every year to make sure it is performing properly & do any maintenance that is required after that.
The lake is approximately 3 to 3 & 1/2 acres and was built in 1958. It has a large population of large mouth bass from 5 to 6 pounds, crappie up to 15 inches and bluegill. The lake is spring fed and there is a fishing dock and picnic shelter beside it. There is excellent duck, turkey & deer hunting in season.
You will see a small wet weather stream, pasture, timber, hay fields, and rolling terrain. That along with the neighboring farms draws wildlife that we see almost daily. The pasture has a good growth of grass which will support your horses. We have had up to 9 horses during our time here. The barn has 6 stalls, 2 storage rooms and a good corral. The front of the property has a good hayfield which produces 7 to 10 large bales of hay each year.
The house features a country kitchen with oodles of solid oak raised panel cabinets, brick & wood island, an appliance garage, 2 ovens (one in a brick wall and the other in the range which has the microwave above it. The floor is beautiful Spanish tile. There is a shelf around the top of the cabinets and the island which allows space for display of special pieces of kitchen ware. This room has crown molding.
In the great room there is a beautiful 2 story brick fireplace with brick storage areas on either side for storing wood. The south wall is almost all windows which look out on the landscaped yard, pasture and 3 acre lake. It has an vaulted ceiling with balcony on 2 sides overlooking the room.
