The southern property line is framed by Cave Hill where a seasonal stream runs through the valley below. The hill tops on the west side of the property have spectacular sunset views.
PLANT LIFE
The plant life includes live oak, red oak, cedar elm, black walnut, hackberry, post oak, mountain laurel, sage, sotol, yucca, agarita, spear grass, bluestem, grama, muhly, and more. The cedar was cleared about 70 years ago allowing grasses, forbs, and browse to thrive. Some cedar is beginning to come back however some has been cleared.
WILDLIFE
There is a diversity of animals that includes whitetail, turkey, aoudad, coyote, fox, hogs, and many birds. The canyons provide excellent habitat for whitetail and aoudad. There have been multiple aoudad herds on the property with evidence of trophy rams. The property has only been hunted about three times in about the last 12 years.
WATER
One of the existing tanks is located in a canyon. Another tank is fed by a season stream and is located in a beautiful area however the dam has washed out. (Photo #16) There are several other tanks however they could be deepened.
IMPROVEMENTS
None. The property is a blank canvas that has not been overgrazed.
OTHER
The property has been used for cattle grazing.
