Soldier's Gap Ranch
The Soldiers Gap Ranch is a diverse property in far eastern Kinney County along the west prong of the Nueces River. These wells feed a series of troughs and storage tanks.
Wildlife: Aside from all native species of game, large herds of axis and aoudad have flourished. Multiple other exotics have been spotted in the ranch from time to time.
Terrain & Vegetation: The ranch is very typical of the transitional zone northwest of Uvalde. Much of the ranch consists of fertile flat land with clusters of large oaks and other trees. The hills are covered with native browse, including guajillo, black brush, cedar, and persimmon trees. There is dense brush lining the draws and dry creek beds.
Improvements: The (3 bed/2 bath) brick home is located in the southwestern corner of the ranch, only a few hundred yards off the paved road. There is also a large barn and cattle pens located near the center of the ranch. Electricity is located at multiple points across the ranch for future improvements.
