This Texas game ranch has been stocked with mule deer and is producing some very nice trophies under the current owner's management plan. Year around protein feed and seasonal wheat grazing, coupled with the ranch's natural browse forbs and vegetation, gives these deer just what they need to grow in mass and size. The property has been highly improved over the last several years, with no bucks harvested, and is ready for a new owner to take the reins in full gallop.

This ranch is part of a larger 3300 acre tract, which has a 10' steel high fence around its whole perimeter, and no cross fencing. The ranch has approximately 2350 acres of native pasture on the south end, with the balance in cultivation on the north. The seller will convey all of the native pasture and 100 acres of wheat ground. The 2450 acres has roughly 5.5 miles of game fencing on its west, south, and east sides, and if the new owner wanted to fence off the 2450 acre tract separately, would only need about two miles of fence built along its north border to fully enclose it.
The native pasture has good grass pastures in its flats, and in other, more rugged areas, hills and ravines that transverse through the landscape. Trees include juniper cedar and mesquite, with sage, cacti, and various native grasses for ground cover. Along the north border, where the wheat field separates from the pasture, a steep ridge creates 100' of elevation change and breathtaking views across the Wichita River valley to the south. It is a very scenic ranch and has even hosted a Marlboro photo shoot in the past.
Several large water tanks have been dug on the property, each 15-20' deep with high dams. They are all well situated along seasonal creek washes and draws to catch rain water. For some tanks, long terraces have been built to collect runoff as well. The owner has built an extensive interior road system to provide access to all parts of the ranch.
In addition to mule deer, the ranch has feral hogs, dove, ducks, and geese, some Rios and bobwhites, as well as coyote and bobcat. Whitetail are native to Knox County and thrived in the ranch before they were removed. If the new owner desired, whitetail deer could easily be reintroduced into the population for additional sport. The ranch is capable of holding exotics too, such as ram and aoudad.
