The old barn was repurposed a few years ago into a bunkhouse and party barn, and it is nice. Behind two overhead glass garage doors you'll find bunk beds for six (crafted from cedar trees sourced from the property), a large leathered granite wet bar, a full bathroom, a pool table, and additional space for tables or dancing. The overall space is open with tall ceilings and large overhead fans moving the air. Like the cabin, the barn has central heat and air for those days when opening up the glass doors doesn't make sense. By opening the overhead glass doors to the adjoining covered patio, the space to entertain expands, providing a nice flow between the inside and outside activities.
There's history here too! The wet bar and one wall inside the barn are constructed from pavers from the historic Vickery Blvd. Constructed in 1890, the "grand boulevard" connected downtown Fort Worth to Polytechnic College, now known as Texas Wesleyan University. The historic street paved the way for a streetcar line and later became part of the historic Bankhead Highway.
