The gem of this property is the glacier formed, ~25’ deep, ‘kettle pond’. The glacial outwash (gravel filled eskers) that surround the pond contribute to the property’s privacy.  Gravel was mined from the eskers in past decades as evidenced by the open pit adjacent to the ~300’ entrance drive.  The high side of the property along the Middle Branch Road is entirely wooded with a mix of hardwoods and hemlock.  There is enough space there to build a house or seasonal structure adjacent to the State land.  A small sawtimber sized white pine plantation occupies the steep slope adjacent to the Steam Mill Road.  A small, pie-shaped piece of the parcel extends across the Middle Branch Road at the intersection of Marshey and Steam Mill Roads.  There is probably not much that can be done with that segregated portion of the property.
