DESCRIPTION: This 84± acre coastal timber tract is located along the northwest slopes of Desolation Saddle, 8.5± miles southeast of Waldport and Alsea Bay. The tract contains an estimated 1,452 MBF of primarily 40± year old western hemlock with some Douglas fir, red alder and Sitka spruce, located on 66± acres (see Supplemental Information Package for detail summary). There are 11± acres of well-stocked 2± year old mixed conifer reproduction. The Douglas fir Site Index is 130, or Site Class II+.
The topography is relatively gentle with access to the northeast section of the tract from USFS Road 53 via Highway 34 and Eckman Road. A powerline R.O.W. bisects the tract and encumbers approximately 6.37 acres. Siuslaw National Forest land adjoins the property.
