Portions of the property are hilly and a few acres are rugged. The woods were timbered 8-9 years ago and look to be ready in 6-8 years. This is an exceptionally healthy, well-managed woodlot.
This is an extremely private and remote property owned by a farming family for over 100 years. The family owns the neighboring agricultural land. The land is accessed by a 1.3 mile right-of-way through the farm. This right-of-way is also used to access the farm and a gravel pit used by the town. This road is seldom used with the exception of the few weeks a year the town is removing gravel. Due to the properties remoteness electric is not available. There is over 7,600 acres of State land within a few miles of the property. Canaseraga State Forest and Ossian State Forest are the closest, but the best known is Rattlesnake Wildlife Management Area.
