THE PROPERTY
98.24 Acres is a lot of land! It is partly cleared and partly wooded with long entrance drive for complete privacy and enjoyment of your surroundings whether it be nurture, harvest, fishing, hunting, horses, all-terrain vehicles or workshops - you have it all here.
The owners are diligent in their care of the environment noting 35 Acres are reforested with Pine, and 25 Acres with Hardwood.

There are catchment ponds throughout the property to provide sustainable farming and care for the surface. No additives keeps life pure! Two of the seven ponds are stocked and one sits just across the drive from the main house which enhances the guest cottage waterfront with dock!
The Stocked Pond with Fountain (one of two stocked ponds) has a dock which makes it so enjoyable as guest or resident to push out the canoe or rowboat for a leisurely, couple hours of
fishing. Easy in and easy out is the key to leisure which is great for swimming too, as the dock is equipped with summer chairs and swim ladder.
Additionally, there is a creek property wide on the land and we are happy to show you all of the above, with a short hike or golf cart ride.
THE MAIN HOUSE
As you enter the property and stay to your right you enter the Main House, private suite, freestanding sauna and garden areas. As a guest you will likely be greeted with a waving hand from the front porch.
The materials to begin home construction were delivered in 2000 when the current owners purchase historic lumber and stones from West Virginia. The architecture was precisely designed to repurpose these historic components in size and style. Adding the artistry of the owner's metal forged hardware, balconies and decorative and utilitarian features the home is a masterpiece.
The main house has the living room, dining room each with floor to ceiling stone, wood-burning fireplaces and open beamed ceilings which are jaw dropping!
Kitchen with open view of backyard is private and healthy overlooking orchards and gated backyard for comfort. Granite countertops and electric oven and gas stove are certain to draw your attention to the luxury of healthy lifestyles.
Circular stairway architecture creates ambiance above main floor into the storybook guest suite with two sleeping areas. One sleeping area overlooks family room and the other open air balcony over the dining area and both have monumental views of the fireplaces and ironwork balconies.
The guest bedrooms and main house are serviced by 1.5 bathrooms each with unique doors and hardware.
The main house doors all open to private stunning areas. Covered front porch on the front, back door opens to manicured rear fenced yard and the side door opens to slate floor enclosed porch breezeway that leads to the private suite both on main level living. The breezeway is perfect for humans and pets to have a close, relaxing, shaded afternoon sit.
The PRIVATE SUITE has two Master Suites main level and circular staircase to the lower
level. The circular staircase maintains a 5- foot square opening for a future elevator, if needed or desired.
The main level Master Suite entrance is from the enclosed porch breezeway the back door exits to the fenced back yard via the mud room and laundry room, which Is perfect for gardening clean up and grooming after a morning session in the herb gardens. Master bath tile, soaking tub and garden window feature mosaic tile artwork wall hanging and floating rug.
The mail level Master Suite and the lower level Master Suite each have as separate sleeping quarter with huge sitting room / living areas.
The lower Master Suite is huge with family area and sleeping quarters, bath and exit to fun things - like patio, outdoor sauna building, and sitting area perfect for post yoga workouts and hikes to the river.
THE GUEST QUARTERS JUST ACROSS DRIVEWAY FROM MAIN HOUSE
Delightful guest cottage is waterfront on stocked pond/lake with huge central fountain spray and dock built for sunning, fishing, boating or swimming.
Two sleeping quarters, austere kitchen with fresh water, heating and cooling, and abundant windows, front and rear entrance with shower, sink, and water heater. The plumbing is gray-water pond, and toilet facilities would be at main house just steps across the driveway.
The cottage has a back deck, flower box windows, nestled within a few shade trees and just a short walk to chicken coop and wood pile for camping like evening get-togethers.
TWO BEDROOM COTTAGE JUST A SHORT DRIVE ON PROPERTY
The guest quarters and two-bedroom cottage both have up-tempo fun decor and furnishings which will convey. This may include dishes, towels, sheets and yes stunning amber stained glass that set the tone for the Two Bedroom Cottage.
The cottage sits on high ground with access to barn, stable and store and surrounded by several catch ponds and paddock. The two bedroom has elegant jack and Jill bath with two sinks and tiled rain shower. Features such as iron work artistry, stained glass, sliding barn doors, and custom lighting are a few of the many touches that bring life and character to the farm.

Closed circuit off the grid solar with non-carbon batteries are yours with a full FREE DAY with installer, as a generous gesture of good will to ascertain new owner receives full benefit of all features. In addition, each station may utilize utility with Dominion Electric by a simple push of the switch. Easy to use. As if that didnt cover it, you will also acquire the property generator located at the main house.
Quonset Metal Workshop
Large, strong, metal structure workshop or multi-purpose room, such as bunk house or boat house is located just steps from the main house and easily reached from the back yard gate.

The Upper two-bedroom cottage as we described is awesome, but also noteworthy for its private decks - one for each occupant or couple! Easy access and walkway to the Barn/Store/CSA and Stables!
BARN AND STABLE with STOREFRONT
and adjoining paddock. The storefront could be a bunk house, or store, or storage, with vinyl walls, concrete floors and plenty of electric, lights, and wall installed heat pump. Adjoining is office, prep room and gathering area which provides access to stable walk through, 4 stalls and tack room. All our practically new and ready for your horses. Just a stones-throw away this high ground cottage and barn and stable are services with Closed Circuit Solar and of course just switch anytime and full utilities will be available.

SUSTAINING AND HERITAGE FARMING
The homestead is nestled on a small forest river, bisected by a stone-laden creek and is full of native wildlife. Owners have dedicated years repairing timbered and neglected land, reforesting more than half to someday become the majestic pine stands and hardwood havens they once were. Owners live and farm on the remaining 35 acres.
Cricket's Cove was a certified Biodynamic farm,the first in Virginia to receive this statusandalso USDA-certified organic. You have the ability to grow on a closed, clean system partnering with the bounty nature provides. Fruit trees and berry bushes are the foundation of all of the gardens with rainwater catchment ponds sprinkled throughout the farm.
Here you may choose to offer vegetables, eggs, fruits, herbs, Nectar, (a local raw honey married with delicious produce and herbs), a forge and more. Crickets Cove once supplied local restaurants, select Farmers' Markets and Twigs & Berries, an organic grocery store on Main Street in Kenbridge, Virginia.

Count the number of chirps a single cricket makes in 15 seconds. Add 40 to your total and it should be close to the Fahrenheit temperature.
