The North Fork of the Malheur River is a designated wild and scenic river that is 22.9 miles in length and is recognized for its outstanding remarkable values of scenery, fisheries, geology, and wildlife habitat. The Ironside Mountain Ranch provides an exclusive opportunity to own the neighboring land the river carves through on its journey to the Snake River. A series of rivers, streams and springs drain the upper country while traveling through the property. There are approximately 28 miles of running water including portions of both the Malheur and Little Malheur Rivers. From road-less fly-fishing opportunities for rainbow trout along the North Fork of the Malheur River to higher elevation hunting in the timber mahogany forests, this ranch has a diversity of recreational opportunities. Remote yet easily accessible, this ranch practically sits at the end of the road. Approximately 4000 acres of mixed timber/juniper/mahogany forests with aspen riparians provide a mosaic of habitat diversity for both livestock and wildlife during the late summer months. The highest peak on the ranch is Ironside Mountain at 7800 ft.

Over 366 acres of strong irrigation water rights supply pastures and riparian areas along the meandering Malheur River system. Middle elevation grazing is comprised of a mix of rangeland grasses with riparian areas scattered across the landscape to furnish a variety resources for livestock during late spring to mid-summer. The lower elevations of the ranch at 3200 ft. provide good irrigated pastures with favorable opportunities for wintering livestock along with an updated feedlot. Steel livestock working corrals with weigh scales provide the option of shipping directly to market by semi-truck at the end of the season from the high country.
