Missaukee Rub Line

When looking for whitetail sign the rub line is the key to providing indications of current and historic buck activity. The transitions from the surrounding agricultural lands to the refuge the subject property offers is riddled with rub lines. Some of the more recent being in an area of 5 to 8 year old popular trees. As you walk the property it becomes evident that this annual tradition has been going on for many years. Generation after generation of buck activity has left many trees void of bark and falling victim to the annual ritual of the Michigan whitetail. Add the pockets of standing water, areas of mature forest, tangle of autumn olive and 20 year old pine plantation and picking a stand location will be the only question left unanswered.
