The Southwest Missouri region offers tourists plenty of towns to visit and things to do. Southwest Missouri was the site of several Civil War battles and has many historic sites where you can explore the state's involvement in the war. Springfield Missouri is the third-largest city in the state and is the birthplace of US Route 66. Located close by is Branson, Missouri which is the regions entertainment capital.

The Southwest Missouri region also offers many lakes to visit including Stockton Lake, Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals Lake. If you're visiting the Southwest Region in Missouri, make sure you don't miss the cities of Bolivar, Joplin, Nevada, and Carthage.
