This beautifully restored Craftsman-style home isn’t just another remodel—it’s a living piece of Oklahoma history. This is the childhood home of Sarah Rector—a young girl born in Taft in 1902 who would defy every expectation of her time.

At only 11 years old, Sarah became one of the richest Black Americans of the early 20th century after oil was discovered on land allotted to her as a descendant of Creek Freedmen. Her allotment became part of the legendary Cushing-Drumright Oil Field, and her story spread across the nation as a symbol of perseverance and possibility. An account of her life is about to be retold on the big screen with the movie, "Sarah's Oil," which opens in theaters November 6th.
