The Griffin Pasture is 2,922± deeded acres located on the eastern slope of Carter Mountain. The pasture is in the fall and winter grazing area for a very large herd of migrant elk. Some of the elk have become permanently located and are in the vicinity year around. Deer and antelope also make the pasture their home. A nice spring fed lake is home to waterfowl. The Webster Ranch has used the Griffin Pasture for cattle grazing for the last 75 years or so with great results. The grass production is good and water is available in many places. The elevation goes up to about 7000 feet so the rainfall is normally pretty good but is low enough for fall use. This pasture is quite remote but electric service is available. Access is via a road used to service an oil pipe line pump station and is kept useable most of the time.
