Hoback Ranches is located in Bondurant, Wyoming, in Sublette County. This small community is named for B.F. Bondurant who established his ranch in the Hoback Canyon in 1900 and later built a store and post office. Bondurant is a small ranch community located in the mountains of the scenic Hoback Canyon on US Highway 191 between Pinedale and Jackson Hole. It sits at 6,588 feet elevation and is bordered by the scenic Gros Ventre Wilderness area and the Hoback River. Many of the residents live here only in the warmer summer months and "snowbird" out during the winter due to the deep snow the valley tends to get in the winter months.
Pinedale, Wyoming is approximately 20 minutes drive from Hoback Ranches and is the largest community in Sublette County, with a population of about 1500 people. Pinedale is located at the foot of the Wind River Mountain Range and close to the Bridger Wilderness Area. Tourism is an industry that plays a big part here in this scenic town. Deer, moose and other wildlife are often seen within the city limits. Recreation opportunities are just minutes away, whether it's fishing or boating in the many lakes surrounding Pinedale, skiing at White Pine Ski Area or hiking in the Wind River Mountains.
Jackson Hole, just an hour away to the northwest of Hoback Ranches, provides fine dining, shopping and an abundance of cultural activities including the Grand Teton Music Festival, National Museum of Wildlife Art, and the Center for the Arts which will be hosting the New York City Ballet in the summer of 2011. Live music, rodeos and art galleries all just an hour away. Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are a short drive from the town of Jackson.
