Parcel Benefits
Summit County Wild Backyard was encouraged with area native wildflowers attracting many pollinators last fall. Goldenrod, Calico Asters, many more are already present.
East Perimeter and central areas of the lot were dedicated to pollinators usage.
Front center section was a compost section.
Very nice Poaceae (grasses) specimens were being allowed to grow for seed collection.
Orchard grass, tall fescue are important fodder/ forage foods for some livestock.
Area Organizations

Area Benefits
Summit Lake has a newly developed Northshore park.
There is a boat launch at Summit Lake Nature Center. This land does not border the lake. The lake is a short walk away, there are restroom facilities to facilitate all day fishing and boating.
Summit Lake is surrounded by a walking trail. A portion of the trail connects to CVNP Towpath Trail that travels north through downtown Akron and all the way north to Cleveland. The CVNP is the most visited National Park in the nation due to proximity to two metropolitan areas.
Its easy to escape into the trail, breathe deep, and change pace quickly.
Hiking the CVNP towpath trail is a terrific weekend hiking challenge. Take the train back at the end of the weekend hike or use Cleveland RTA and Metro RTA bus systems, alternatively use Lyft/Uber. Most trail entrances do not allow overnight parking.
