Lake City offers many different events throughout the year to bring the community together from the Gateway City Craft Beer & Wine Festival, the Annual Easter Egg-stravaganza, 4th of July Celebration, Trunk or Treat, Olustee Battle Festival & Re-Enactment, Florida Gateway Pro Rodeo, Columbia County Fair, and much more.

In Lake City you will find 3 hospitals: Lake City Medical Center, Shands Lake Shore Medical Center, and a VA Medical Center. Many different shopping opportunities at the Lake City Mall, Super Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, Publix, Winn Dixie, Harveys and much more.

Florida Gateway College calls Lake City home or you can choose to travel 45 minutes south to Gainesville where you will find the University of Florida and Santa Fe College.

Around Lake City you will find many different outdoor recreation opportunities from the Osceola National Forest, Stephen Foster State Park, Alligator Lake, Suwannee River, Falling Creek Falls, and the world famous crystal clear Ichetucknee River and Springs. A great place to go tubing on a hot summer day.

Central Place - Estate 8 is mostly cleared with a few trees on the property and fenced on two sides. The lot is located on county maintained paved road and electricity is available to the front property. There is no requirement or timetable to build. However when you decide to build your home must be a minimum of 960 square feet or larger. Mobile and Modular Homes are permitted as long as they are 10 years of age or newer when initially placed on the property. Farm animals are permitted with the exception of pigs.
