Holman Creek Woods are located in Terrell County just ten minutes outside of Dawson, Georgia. Terrell County is situated in southwest Georgia and right in the middle of the Peanut Belt. Additionally, this area is in the heart of the Apalachicola-Chattahootchee-Flint River Basin.
As a prominent feature of this watershed the Ichawaynochaway Creek flows through western Terrell County and right through the southwest quadrant of these woods. The creek name is derived from the areas original inhabitants the Muskogee Indians.
