There is a hospital, grocery stores, and a lot of other restaurants in Hiawassee. You can go a bit further and enjoy Harrah's casino in Murphy only about 30 miles away. Or, just enjoy your place in the woods on the mountain - with two sides joining the USFS land - and only a long hike over to the Appalachian Trail.

From Hiawassee, go East on Hwy 76 about 8 miles, turn left on Upper Hightower Road, go about 2.4 miles, after the hard turn left watch for the barn on the left with the metal roof, road is on the right at my sign. From Clayton (US 441) go through downtown on 76 w for 30 miles, Upper Hightower is on your right after Upper Hightower Creek. Sign on R in about 3 miles.
