This 225-acre Illinois farm is a very unique property that is very hard to find anywhere in the Midwest. The property is located at the end of a dead-end road behind a locked gate. This 225-acre Illinois farm is a very unique property that is very hard to find anywhere in the Midwest. The property is located at the end of a dead-end road behind a locked gate. Still, the most amazing part is that it is surrounded by close to 10,000 acres or more of Shawnee National Forest, which is landlocked or almost impossible to access because of the very steep and rugged ridges and the road being a long, long way. So, you're buying 225 acres, and you can hunt thousands of acres that almost no one can access. I personally would stay out of the National Forest and just concentrate on the 225 acres leaving the 10,000 acres as a sanctuary. There are 35 acres of open ground that the sellers have 4-5 food plots in now with other parts planted in grasses or hay. I would recommend planting 15-20 acres of beans, corn, milo, greens, clover and alfalfa and just suck the deer out of the National Forest. The lovely little house with a new metal roof, new hot water heater, and 1000-gallon propane tank makes for a great little hunting camp and could be rented out on Airbnb for income. There is also a barn thats perfect for storing equipment. Sellers have also planted multiple locations in giant miscanthus grass for screening. This farm is a great sanctuary that won't come around very often.
