The Circle W Ranch is located in the magnificent John Day River country of north central Oregon outside of the small ranching and river community of Spray. Spreading across 11,615 contiguous deeded acres, the Circle W features over four miles of the John Day River, high quality residential and agricultural improvements, a seasonal cattle operation, and superb hunting for big game and upland birds.
The ranch has four well-crafted homes, including a 4,600 sq. ft. lodge-style owners residence with four bedrooms and six baths, and a second 3,315 sq. ft. custom-built log home with four bedrooms and three baths, both of which were constructed in 2011 and take advantage of a secluded location with long views of the river and surrounding mountains. Additional residences include a 4,200 sq. ft. managers home and a 1,850 sq. ft. employee dwelling.

Approximately 240 acres situated along the river are irrigated with five pivots and five wheel lines. The owners are currently leasing summer grazing for approximately 1,000 yearlings. In the past, the ranch supported 350 mother cows year round and produced 1,000 tons of hay. The upper portions of the property are perimeter and cross-fenced, and stock water is provided by numerous stock tanks and seven spring-fed ponds. Approximately 2,000 acres of the property have been enhanced through juniper removal and reseeding. Excellent interior roads enable easy access to pastures and water sources.
Quail and chukar find solace in the dramatic basalt canyons and coulees that mark the ranch, while elk and mule deer roam the expansive, juniper and pine-dotted grasslands found in the propertys secluded upper reaches. The John Day River is home to one of the top small-mouth bass fisheries in the nation (an undisputed fact) and also contains trout, catfish, fall/winter steelhead, and Chinook salmon runs.
Accessible year round via State Highway 19, the ranch is situated approximately 90 miles east of Prineville, Oregon, which offers retail and commercial services and includes a general aviation airport that accommodates private jet traffic. The upscale communities of Bend and Redmond are located 20 miles west of Prineville and are home to a commercial airport that services much of central Oregon.
