Thick stands of mature aspens, spruce and fir cover the upper portions of the ranch and in addition to the big game that find solace in these areas so do the grouse. It is an absolute joy to walk the well-developed road network of the ranch for the second largest Grouse in north America which is the Dusky or Blue grouse.
