The Bitterroot River is one of Montanas best freestone fisheries supporting healthy numbers of wild Rainbow and Brown trout as well as native west-slope Cutthrought trout. The Craighead Bench is connected by the river corridor to the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge which is located just upstream.
