Rock House Ranch
DESCRIPTION: The old rock ranch house built decades ago sits almost forgotten at the corner of FM 500 and CR 129. The pecan trees that shade it are its only neighbors. The house is in poor condition and would need an overhaul but it still stands sentinel to the ranch that lies behind it. The ranch is divided into 2 large pastures with tanks in both pastures to provide water for livestock and wildlife. The amazing fact is that these ponds are still holding water despite the drought and the record setting high temperatures. Both pastures have heavy tree cover of large mesquites with elms and post oaks around the tanks and along the water courses. Until this summer it has been used as a cattle ranch which does not compete with the deer population. Excellent hunting.
