Lake Bridgeport also provides a haven for many waterfowl species. Local folklore has it that a Chupacabra was found near Runaway Bay, but this is likely just folklore.
Lake Bridgeport itself is known to have very good fishing for hybrid striped bass, crappie, largemouth bass and catfish.
